GPON’s work directly contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

• • Education in Emergencies

  We ensure that children in conflict and disaster-affected areas have uninterrupted access to safe, inclusive, and quality education. By establishing temporary learning spaces, rehabilitating schools, providing learning materials, and training teachers, GPON safeguards education as a life-saving intervention.

• • Child Protection in Emergencies

  GPON works to keep children safe from violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation. We strengthen community-based child protection mechanisms, provide psychosocial support, establish referral pathways, and build systems that protect children’s rights even in fragile contexts.

• • WASH in Emergencies

  Access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene is critical during crises. We deliver safe water supplies, construct and rehabilitate sanitation facilities, and promote hygiene practices to reduce disease outbreaks and protect public health in emergency settings.

• • Socio-economic Reintegration of Ex-Associates

  We support the reintegration of ex-combatants and children formerly associated with armed groups. Our approach combines psychosocial care, vocational training, education, and livelihoods support—helping them rebuild their lives, restore dignity, and contribute positively to their communities.

• • Nutrition in Emergencies

  Malnutrition is a life-threatening risk during humanitarian crises. GPON implements nutrition screening, community-based management of acute malnutrition, and promotion of infant and young child feeding practices—ensuring that children and caregivers receive essential support for survival and growth.

• • Health in Emergencies

  GPON provides essential health services in hard-to-reach and crisis-affected areas. From primary healthcare delivery and maternal care to disease prevention and emergency referrals, we strengthen access to lifesaving medical services for vulnerable populations.

• • Mine Action

  Conflict leaves behind explosive hazards that endanger communities. GPON engages in risk education, community awareness, and advocacy on mine action, helping families recognize and avoid explosive remnants of war while supporting broader demining initiatives.

• • Gender-Based Violence (GBV)

  We address GBV through prevention, risk mitigation, and response services. GPON provides safe spaces, psychosocial support, referral services, and awareness campaigns that empower women and girls, while engaging men and boys as allies in ending violence.

• • Anticipatory Action and Rapid Response Mechanism

  GPON acts before crises escalate. Using early warning systems, pre-positioned supplies, and flexible response mechanisms, we rapidly address emerging risks—whether floods, displacement, or outbreaks—minimizing harm and strengthening community resilience.
