Promoting Inclusive Education: Creating Disability-Friendly Spaces in Schools

As an Organization, we are committed to ensuring every child has access to quality education in a safe and inclusive setting. To further support children with disabilities. Through the support from Education Cannot Wait (ECW), and UNICEF Nigeria, we have recently launched a major initiative to retrofit Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS) in Pulka, Kala-Balge, and Madagali Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the BAY States (Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe).

Children with disabilities often face unique challenges that can hinder their ability to access quality education now. These challenges range from physical barriers to a lack of tailored educational support. Recognizing these obstacles, our team has worked diligently to transform TLS into disability-friendly spaces that cater to the specific needs of these children.

The retrofitting of these TLS in Pulka, Kala-Balge, and Madagali has already begun to show positive outcomes. Parents and caregivers have expressed their gratitude for the improved facilities, noting that their children now feel more comfortable and motivated to attend school. Educators report a more inclusive and harmonious classroom atmosphere, where children of all abilities can thrive together.

This initiative is just the beginning of our commitment to fostering inclusive education for all children. We are dedicated to expanding these efforts and ensuring that every child, regardless of their abilities, has the opportunity to reach their full potential. By creating disability-friendly spaces and promoting inclusive education, we aim to build a more equitable and supportive educational system for the future.

We invite you to support our efforts in creating inclusive educational environments for children with disabilities. Whether through donations, volunteering, or advocacy, your involvement can make a significant difference in the lives of these children.

Together, we can create a world where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

A better humanity is possible
