At GOALPrime Organization Nigeria, we are dedicated to creating safe and supportive environments for all individuals, especially the most vulnerable. Recently, we conducted a series of crucial awareness sessions focusing on the prevention, response, and reporting of incidents related to Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Violence Against Children (VAC), and Gender-Based Violence (GBV). These sessions were held in communities within Pulka LGA of Borno State and Gubja LGA in Yobe State, reaching out to educate and empower community members.
Awareness is the first step towards change. By educating communities about PSEA, VAC, and GBV, we aim to equip individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to identify and report these harmful activities. Understanding the signs and knowing the appropriate actions to take can significantly reduce the occurrence of these abuses and protect the most vulnerable.
The sessions in Pulka and Gubja were well-received, with active participation from community members. Through interactive discussions, role-playing activities, and open forums, participants were encouraged to share their experiences and ask questions. This interactive approach helped to foster a deeper understanding and commitment to preventing these forms of violence and abuse.
One participant from Pulka shared, “These sessions have opened our eyes to the importance of protecting our children and women. We now know how to recognize and report abuse, and we feel more empowered to take action.”
We are committed to continuing our efforts in educating and empowering communities across Nigeria. Our goal is to create a network of informed individuals who can act as advocates for PSEA, VAC, and GBV prevention in their communities.
A better humanity is possible
