At GPON, we believe in the power of skills, the strength of ambition, and the potential within every young individual. Our vision for a better world for children, women, and caregivers resonates with the core belief that empowering young minds is not just a choice; it's a responsibility. In line with this vision, GPON has taken significant strides in empowering the youth of Mafa and Kala Balge LGAs, of Borno State, by providing them with the essential tools and resources to kickstart their careers in various vocational fields.
The provision of start-up kits to vocational training graduates is a cornerstone of our organization's effort to support youth employment and entrepreneurship. To achieve this, we have initiated a program that provides start-up kits to vocational training graduates. These kits are meticulously tailored to their respective fields, including local incense production, knitting, cap making, and cosmetology. Each kit comprises the equipment and materials necessary for these graduates to initiate their careers, enabling them to transform their skills into sustainable businesses.
Our efforts have made a significant impact in Mafa and Kala Balge LGAs. By distributing these start-up kits, we have empowered young individuals, enabling them to achieve economic independence and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities. As these talented individuals embark on their entrepreneurial journeys, they are not only building their futures but also fostering economic growth within their localities.
This initiative under the Street Child ECW MYRP YR2 project, saw that 137 adolescent girls in Mafa and Kala Balge LGAs of Borno State received their ECW YR 2 Vocational Skill Start-Up Kits. These kits are tailored to their learned skills over a period of mentorship. With each kit, a dream is nurtured, a skill is honed, and a future is transformed.
At GOALPrime Organization Nigeria, we are not just providing tools; we are sowing the seeds of empowerment. In partnership with Education Cannot Wait (ECW), Street Child, and the Norwegian Refugee Council, together we are shaping a generation of skilled, self-reliant individuals who will undoubtedly leave a mark on their communities and beyond.
