Field Visit Update | ECW-FER Intervention – Katsina State

Field Visit Update | ECW-FER Intervention – Katsina State

Yesterday in Musawa, a joint supervisory team from Save the Children International (SCI) and GoalPrime Organization Nigeria (GPON) engaged key stakeholders to assess progress under the Education Cannot Wait – First Emergency Response (ECW-FER) initiative.

During the visit we had:

  • Interactive sessions with field officers and education stakeholders
  •  Rapid assessments at Alternative Learning Centres (ALCs)
  • Monitoring of Child Protection (CP) and Psychosocial Support (PSS) activities
  • A dynamic Life Skills session led by the Gender Department and community case workers

Special recognition was given to Community Volunteer Teachers (CVTs) for their unwavering commitment. Technical feedback gathered during the visit will inform strategies to further strengthen the program’s impact.

This initiative funded by ECW, implemented by GPON in partnership with SCI, and supported by the Katsina State Government is part of a broader mission to reduce the number of over 800,000 Out-of-School Children (OOSC) in Katsina.

Let’s amplify the message: Education in Emergencies is possible.

Together, we can rewrite the story for children in crisis-affected communities.

A Better Humanity Is Possible!
