Over the past two days, representatives from the Federal Ministry of Education and the Education in Emergencies Working Group (EiEWG) joined GoalPrime Organisation Nigeria (GPON) and Save the Children International (SCI) on a monitoring mission across Mashi and Musawa LGAs in Katsina State.
The visit showcased the progress of the ECW-FER Education in Emergencies project, including rehabilitated schools, improved learning spaces, and community-driven initiatives. Delegates engaged with district heads, education officers, and grassroots actors, Community Volunteer Teachers, Gender Champions, Life Skills Facilitators, MHPSS teams, and CEWAAC members, to understand how collaboration is transforming education access for vulnerable children.

Baseline Assessment of Existing Educational Interventions
Partners like GPON, SCI, and EIEWG jumped in early. They set up temporary learning spots under trees or in community halls. Teacher stipends keep staff around, paid monthly to ease money worries. SCI built safe rooms in key villages, with locked doors and fans for hot days.
GPON hands out kits—notebooks, pencils, even solar lamps for night study. EIEWG trains locals on child rights, linking school to protection. Early results shine. One school saw attendance climb 25 percent after these aids. Teachers report kids more engaged, asking questions again. Still, gaps exist, like uneven kit delivery in remote spots. These steps lay a base, but the monitoring visit dug deeper.
Evaluating Partnership Effectiveness: Insights from the Monitoring Visit
The visit brought teams to the field. They walked classrooms, talked to teachers and parents. What they found? Solid teamwork, but room to tighten bonds. This check-up turned talk into action for better education in crisis zones.
Key takeaway: Lasting impact begins with listening and shared accountability. Together, we’re building systems of resilience that ensure every child’s right to learn, even in the face of crisis.
Education is hope. Education is dignity. Education is the future.
A Better Humanity is Possible!!!
