In a significant stride toward improving access to quality education and supporting children affected by crises, GoalPrime Organization Nigeria (GPON), in collaboration with Save the Children International (SCI) and Education Cannot Wait (ECW), has launched a large-scale distribution of essential learning materials and dignity kits in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The event, held on November 24, 2025, marks another milestone in the ongoing humanitarian efforts to strengthen education resilience in Nigeria’s conflict-affected Northwest region. The initiative targets children, adolescents, and young learners, ensuring they have the tools, resources, and support necessary to continue their education despite ongoing challenges.

During the distribution, hundreds of learners—particularly those displaced by insecurity—received learning kits, including notebooks, writing materials, school bags, and other critical educational supplies. In parallel, dignity kits containing hygiene items were distributed to adolescent girls, reinforcing the importance of health, dignity, and school attendance for young women in crisis contexts.
Speaking at the launch, a representative from GoalPrime Organization Nigeria emphasized the organization’s commitment to inclusive education and child protection.
“Education remains a lifeline for children in emergencies. Through our partnership with SCI and ECW, we are ensuring that every child, regardless of circumstance, can learn in a safe, supportive environment,” the representative stated.
Save the Children International highlighted that the intervention aligns with its mission to promote child rights and education in emergencies, while Education Cannot Wait—the United Nations global fund for education in emergencies—continues to support initiatives that enable children to learn even in the most difficult circumstances.
Community leaders, local education authorities, and parents expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful. Many noted that the support would ease the burden on vulnerable families and encourage children—especially girls—to remain in school.
The initiative in Anka is part of a broader Education in Emergencies (EiE) response framework implemented across Zamfara State, addressing barriers such as displacement, poverty, and insecurity that hinder access to education. Through the joint efforts of GPON, SCI, and ECW, thousands of children across the region are expected to benefit from similar interventions in the coming months.
This collaboration underscores the shared vision of ensuring that no child is left behind, regardless of their circumstances. By investing in both learning and dignity, the partners are not only restoring hope but also laying the foundation for a more resilient, educated, and empowered generation in Zamfara and beyond.
